Winfrith was the site of nine reactors including the experimental Dragon reactor and a large Steam Generating Heavy Water Reactor (SGHWR) feeding the National Grid from 1968 to 1990.

Sizewell is a nuclear power station in Suffolk, near Leiston. It is operated by British Energy, which is owned by EDF (80%) and Centrica (20%).

At present, there are two reactors at Sizewell.

The Japanese Peace Boat is visiting London and joining with CND and the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) to create awareness of the humanitarian consequences of nuclear technologies used for weapons and energy.
