EDF “nuclear bulls**t” protest

People protesting about public subsidies for a new Hinkley Point nuclear power station today dumped a pile of animal manure at an EDF shop in Bridgwater in Somerset. A banner was hung above the shop which read “No More Bullsxxt – EDF take our £££ and dump waste on us!”

Kick Nuclear Activists Invite DECC Staff To Boycott EDF.

This morning activists from Kick Nuclear distributed Boycott EDF postcards and the Spring edition of Fukushima Update to staff at DECC [ Department of Energy & Climate Change ] as they went into work.

Veteran activist Martyn Lowe commented: ‘ It was really encouraging to see just how many DECC staff took the items and read them. It is to be hoped that they now act upon this information’

An announcement about the future of the UK nuclear industry is expected within the next 24 hours.

Reclaim Hinkley - London solidarity protest at DECC

A demo in solidarity with the Reclaim Hinkley mass action will be held outside the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC), 3 Whitehall Place, London, SW1A 2AW, on Monday 8th October 2012, from 12noon to 2pm.
